Last year, my contract with the second job has been terminated only with short notice. It was for the company's reorganization, they explained, and while they have provided a generous separation package, the loss of the second job resulted in the complete wipeout of my savings. There were so many unforeseen expenses - from house pest treatment to emergency car repairs.
I wasn't able to find a replacement racket to cover the loss.
So we start the new decade being technically in the red. And with credit card debts on the verge of going into default, having savings will now just be an afterthought. Though the Favorite Aunt's emergency fund is still under my control, I am no longer in the position to respond financially should there be a need to immediately shell out money for personal conveniences.
