Surface Tension

Credit

All these talks of hard-ons, these morning leanings of sending your naked selfie to strangers;
these digital encounters that fling you beyond the occasional desire
to seek shadows beyond your realm
speak of one thing, and one thing alone:

Deep down, you long to be
cocooned in the arms of another.

It doesn't matter if he's a stranger or a friend,
all you ever wanted is to belong.

Because the need for acceptance cuts deep, runs long. A basic necessity, embedded in our core. That which is detrimental, immediate.

how true it is, that beneath the superficial demands for attention, is the desire to become less lonely than we are.
