In Passing

Memory
is like a machete
slashing you from within.
As scenes of bittersweet
moments fill you with emptiness,
you cannot help but ask
the heavens why he has
to leave so early
while you, who still remain
feels being left stranded.

- Composed in my N70 while waiting outside the morgue as Angelo says his parting words to a fallen comrade, too young to leave everything behind.
