Reign Of The Tivoli

The ceremonial gavel is struck by the president, hitting the pinewood block with a force whose sound ripples across the spacious hall. Representatives huddled near the aisles turn their head towards the podium. Their party agendas, conspiracies and private discussions over the new political alignment are abruptly disbanded letting the order return and the Althing serve its disillusioned constituencies once again.

Behind the podium sat a silver-haired lady wearing thick, black-rimmed glasses which gives her a somber appeal. Her coal black velvet overcoat drapes her with power and authority to carry a broken nation gripped with economic woes. The government fell two weeks before her ascension. Banks are closing and the people are marching on the streets. The capital city known for its legendary tranquility is on the verge of chaos. No one knew how a global financial collapse would return an island-nation of three hundred thousand souls back to its ferocious roots. Times have changed and they needed a queen who can sway a warrior's sword to put things back to where they were.

So they elected a sappho who will lead them out of the storm.

Surrounding this iron lady are her cabinet members chosen to work with the new leader. Her feminine appeal and strange circumstances of being put in office suddenly grabbed the world's imagination. With a country on its knees, she stood up from her chair and walked proudly towards the podium. TV cameras from all news-gathering organizations - including her own pan their lenses toward the center of the hall. Lights hung on the ceiling illuminates her spot as everyone's pupil stare at this woman, whose first words will echo a revolution that will quietly sweep across the planet.

Okkar tími hefur koma
Our time has come
